@RobynWatts Grunge ruined this format, just like rap ruined Top 40. (I never liked Top 40 just because it limited itself to songs released as singles, but musically they used to play a good variety of stuff.)

@vinyl12s This was the greatest station for a long time, after the failure of The Quake and Sacramento's very short-lived KPOP. Now it's not even a shadow of its former self- the grunge craze of the early 90s ruined most stations with this format. I REALLY can't believe this station is doing SPORTS now!

Never could get into this station..I guess looking back this station was a pioneer in what it was doing. This format worked throughout the 90's into the 2000's. In the last few years though, it's a different story. The ratings for LIVE 105 are dismal (1.6 in the June 2011 Book) and it won't be long before CBS flushes this turd station down the toilet.

wow, I'm tripping out...that's me! I don't have a copy of this, it was pre digital, must be from a cassette or video tape. I'm floored...radio was so different (i.e. better).

It's casette... clearly a cheap one from TG&Y! I have Steve Masters as recorded on VHS, and the quality is much, much better. I also have another aircheck of you from KROQ on Labor Day, 1986.

I'm glad you liked it. I have quite a few unscoped modern rock airchecks from the 1980s and early 1990s. They would require six to 12 parts to upload in most cases (lousy ten-minute limit), and that's probably what's preventing me from uploading them.
