@mackuss totally agree - this needs so much more feeling put into it. Love the piece, but it needs an orchestra to play it, not a computer.

It's unclear why would appreciate music at all, there is no obvious evolutionary benefit to enjoying listening to music heard before. I'd argue that, more likely than not, music exploits bugs in the brain and induces certain states through rhythmic and melodic patterns. This would strongly argue for the universality of music. That said, there could be some reinforcement whereby multiple listening increase sensitivity, leaving room for a cultural context to influence our liking of music.
