Crysis Asus 8800gt 370W psu

this is crysis running on an Asus 8800gt stock speed (its hot enough thank you!) at 1280x1024 most settings max except post processing (low i hate post processing) and shadows on medium, and no AA.

running on a 370W PSU for 3 weeks with lots of gaming all at max settings and no blue screens or errors because of lack of power.

as you can see the power requirements that prople speak of are highly overrated.

wow you bought a 8800GT today :O

it should run, but i don't know what else you have on your computer, i'd still recommend you get a more powerfull one, these days, 350W is really low these days.

The power requirements are only overrated because alot of people have Hipro PSUs and the like, so they overestimate to cover their asses

i dont have that psu anymore, i had to upgrade a while ago to add 2 extra hard drives and more ram and overclock the processor :P

What cooler do you have on your 8800gt and what are your Idle-Load temps?

i have a Zalman VF700-Alcu

temps are about 60's 70 under load (Celsius)

idle its around 40's.

it used to be 100 and freakin noisy with the stock cooler, i hated the damn thing

Yup power requirements are overrated, playing at 300 of 400 I hope 400 here ^^

the Q6600 in FULL power (meaning all 4 cores runing at max) takes up 100W :) but i doubt there is any aplication that makes the q6600 use it's full power.cheers

Ok thanks, see I seen this computer in PC World an advent one qc something and it has a 8500gt in it, but I was thinking of upgrading it to a 8800gt so I don't know if I will have to upgrade the psu.
