  • I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (November 30), we sang The King Shall Come as our closing hymn. It is #260 in Evangelical Lutheran Worship in the Advent section. It is written by John Brownlie and set to the tune CONSOLATION from A. Davisson, Kentucky Harmony, and arranged by Theodore A. Beck. Just thought I'd share.

  • Thank you my brother for that thought, that lets me know that these songs are not forgotten about,be bless.

  • I can listen to this all day. COGIC had some great hits back then. Dr. Mattie Moss Clark deserves so much credit than what's given to her. Her hard work paved the way for a lot of choirs to this day.

  • This song was written by a teenaged Twinkie Clark...God Bless her!

  • Thanks for posting this wonderful classic. However, it was recorded in 1975 (not 1985). I was privileged to be a first soprano in the choir. Good times!!
