hey you sound like a guy who knows his stuff i have a friend that is selling me one of his ibook g4 and i think its in really good condition for how long its been out but i just wanted to know is it hard to change the top and bottom cases of the laptop i mean the top and bottom housing the shiny exterior it has surface scratches and i think if i could replace those to things i could get the laptop for a steal its a great price man but i gotta change at least the top housing so i get itpure&shiny

The same things happened to my iBook. After wear and tear, the hinge somewhat broke, and caused my screen to shut off and on... randomly. I still have that iBook. Perhaps I can send it to you for repair?
I went and bought a macbook pro but still would like to repair my iBook to use as a backup.
