Muffed punts, inconsistent quarterback play...funny, from the reaction of the fan base recently, you would think that kind of thing only happened under Rodriguez and we were perfect all the time before him.

Woverine Historian - see if you can locate the 1995 UM v Purdue game. Talk about sloppy. I think it ended 5 - 0. Freezing rain, mud, and at one point, the field fogged over and you couldn't see the players - just whistles when the play started and ended. Drank lots of SoCo in the stands that day.

I was there. Brutal weather, sloppy play, my sister was miserable (guess that's why she wound up going to State LOL), but there was one ray of sunshine. A MICHIGAN WIN!

so many future nfl starters on both sides of the ball

I'm pretty sure it was... Fargas played great yet didn't get a chance to play much the rest of the season. I remember wondering how a kid from California could run so well on a muddy field.

Was this the game that Justin Fargas had his only 100 yard rushing game as a Wolverine before the injuries caught up to him till he transferred?
-
exactly. And in adition, there was the mergence of Chris Perry to suceed the A-Train after the 2000 season. Everything except this game againt NW went wrong for Fargas at Michigan. which is sad, cause he was a really good TB, as he proved in his senior year at USC and in his NFL career with the Oakland Raiders
-
he was a TB coming out of HS, and he ended up playing OLB. he was a damn good OLB at that
I remember also besides the remarkable play of Fargas, James Whitley muffing his fourth punt in 3 games when we were down 3-0. I was ready to strangle him for it.

Yeah...bad memory. There were a few times I wanted to strangle Brady that year too. But those constant muffed punts just about killed me.
