This award is the highest honor given to an architectural educator from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture (ACSA). The medal honors an individual who has made outstanding contributions to architectural education for a decade or more.
Lawrence Speck's architecture classes at the University of Texas attract almost 10% of undergraduate students -- more than any other professor on the University of Texas at Austin campus.

  • He was my professor in 08 when i was a freshmen...I really enjoyed his class. You definitely learn a lot about architecture and what to think about when looking at a building...i just wished he would have graded my papers rather then the TA i got...but overall fantastic professor.
