The External ATSC/QAM TVBox DVI Edition not only supports digital free-to-air vestigial TV, but also unencrypted QAM cable TV. With this device, you not only can view your favorite programs in high quality 16:9 aspect ratio, but also in 1080i or 720p video quality (depending on the functionality of your LCD monitor)!

  • This guy is a clown... he refers to the DVI version as HDMI... plus he makes you think that it's easy to get HD for free... how about this clown mentions that you need a pretty potent antenna to pick up ATSC... I hate these reviews. This is what creates an uninformed consumer. I wonder who sponsored this crap? Must be K-World

  • how to get channels from local cable operator using this atsc/qam tv box, since they are not digital channels

  • @illusion8055 It really depends on where you live. I have a homemade antenna (coat hangers on a board) that picks up the local ATSC broadcasts perfectly, and it is easy as f. And ok, he does say HDMI, but that is because the DVI version IS the HDMI version, it comes with the DVI to HDMI converter in box. That's because DVI is digital while VGA IS NOT. So yes, if you did want to use HDMI with this box you would get the DVI version.

  • Listen you clown pounder... since the drop of analog TV signals two years ago ATSC signals have got stronger. Perhaps if you weren't 12 years old you remember that. I wrote my comments before the conversion. When I wrote the comment you were lucky to get one HD channel with the built-in tuner in the Houston area. Up in Canada you'd need a mountain of antenna on your roof to get a clean ATSC signal.

  • @illusion8055 someone cant use technology

  • i gonna buy it

  • @illusion8055

    I don't know what you mean, because I can easily grab 22 channels (Miami, FL) with a cheap ($17.99) antenna I got from Monoprice. Several of those channels are HD (1080i). That's using the tuner inside my Tv.

    Also, DVI and HDMI are identical up to 1.2 spec. Even some ATI/AMD video cards support audio via DVI/HDMI adapters. 1.3 and onward is what added the extra features that separate them.

    I don't see what the problem is. I think YOU are actually making sound harder than it is.

  • @illusion8055 LOL...so true. They just want to con people into buying this junk.

  • One Question ::

    Would i be able to record game play from my ps3 ?

    Like i see the component "IN" but if i split the component cables with 5 "Y" splitters and use the USB port to hook up to my computer and download a program to record ??

    thanks !
