Harlem Nocturne by John Firmin / The Johnny Nocturne Band from the Million Dollar Secret album, BLUE BUCKET RECORDS #BBR03 (2005). This is reportedly the most downloaded version of Harlem Nocturne on the internet (source: iTunes). A unique mix of jump blues, small band swing and soul jazz.... a good introduction to this band if you haven't heard them yet. And a must addition to any previous Nocturne CD's, with John Firmin / Johnny Nocturne: tenor sax and leader (legndary David Bromberg band saxophonist); Henry Salvia: piano; Alex Baum: bass; Kent Bryson: drums.
