Frank Brown (Hylo Brown), bluegrass singer: born River, Kentucky April 20 1922; died Mechanicsburg, Ohio January 17 2003. Before making it on his own he use to sing with Flatt and Scruggs. Flatt and Scruggs helped him form a group called the Timberliners.

  • Hylo and me are from the same home town. I grew up on his music and still love it today. I am 65 years old and i remember when country and Bluegrass was real music instead of Rock trying to pass off as country.

  • My dad worked in a filling station in eastern Ky and Hylo stopped for gas and dad got him to autograph a record for him .This was in the late 60's I still have that record today.
