DIY solar cell

Combining cheap, broken solar cells I created this array of cells, interconnected so that they actually collect charge from the sun. When placed by a window they create some 2.3 V, and around 2.4mA...

You can more volt from a solar coin. Put a penny on the unit of a stove and put the stove unit on medium heat. When the penny starts to turn black turn off the stove unit. If the penny starts to flake a layer you applied to much heat. I made a 12 volt penny cell by placing 6 pennies in series. With clear tape, tape a single strand of copper wire to on side and to the edge of the penny or pennies and place them in a light source. each penny should give about 2.4 volts dc maximum. have fun!
