President Obama received the Nobel Peace Prize in Oslo, and much of his speech rested on the irony of receiving the honor as a war-time leader. CBS News' Mark Knoller has the latest from the White House and John Dickerson spoke with GOP strategist Matt Mackowiak and Center For American Progress' Faiz Shakir.

  • mark knoller looks like a white castle commercial.

And was he looking down at his notes or his thesaurus?

  • that is so awsome that you communicated with me

  • @ObserverNz I think you`re a joke.

  • mr.sinalinaninn, your sentiments are exactly mine.i drank the obama kool-aid and was swept away with the liberal goose-step (i was conservative). i even drove elderly relatives to go and vote for him, gave money to his campaign (of which i have not an abundance) and even did phone calls. I AM SO DISAPPOINTED, DISGUSTED and DEPRESSED over his behavior. He will not be getting my vote in 2012. I might no be voting at all. May he enjoy all the empty accolades. There won't be any in 36 mos.

  • mingmong00 So now I guess we can say war is diplomacy instead of war is peace.

  • Whenever possible, President Obama seeks peace via diplomacy. Just because diplomacy is not always an option does not change the essences and goals of the man.

  • If those who desire peace belittle or discount these attempts by saying what has he done?, he is a promoter of war, he is just like Bush; all we will accomplished is to clear the path for those who see diplomacy as a waste of time. The world moves with the engine of money and firepower. Peace seekers cannot further handicap our cause by degrading the slow engine of diplomacy.

  • Obama has reach out to the world in ways an American president has not do in a very long time, and he did not wait until he was out of office before he did it. He did so not only so that the world and be with America in war but also in peace. So that America, with other nations, can peacefully address the bad actors that are on the world stage.

  • To say Obama promotes war is very unfair. Promoters of war see peace as something we must muddle through until the path to war is cleared. If we fairly observed most of Obamas actions thus far in his presidency we cannot honestly say he is a promoter of war. This brings me to my next point. 2.) Those of us that desire peace over war has to recognize the subtleness and pace of diplomacy.
