  • I'm just now becoming acquainted with her from the DownBeat piece done on Beyonce's Suga Mama band. I understand the concept of spiritual being familiar with people like John Coltrane. All I honestly understand is that I usually find jazz challenging, so I'm into that. I like the pop stuff, etc. as well. I'm looking to see what Kim does in jazz specifically, though. I like to hear what females in jazz bring. Cindy Blackman describes herself as a jazz musician. I like Kim's enthusiasm.

  • she couldn't swing her way out of a paper bag. im sorry but someone has to be the voice of reason around here! play some language!!!

  • @RootsinBrooklyn i dont think shes referring to hip hop on the radio. hip hop is evolving to the point now a days, where instrumental jazz with a hip hop feel is considered a form of hip hop.

  • Hip hop music has springboarded from the non-verbal communication of jazz?Hmmm. What's left tin hip-hop after the verbal? love and compassion ? I 'm not hearing it in the hip-hop played on the radio? Much of what Kim says could be said about lots of music - so much classical, Celtic, Indian, Latin, on and on.
