Isn't there a great deal of energy still in the shit when it comes out? I've read that large scale pig farmers use the methane produced by the animal by-products to generate power, sometimes for the whole town. Not exactly over-unity, but certainly more efficient than throwing it away or stacking it up and letting the rain water take it into the ocean where it produces algae booms and resulting "dead zones"

@christo930 ; Yes indeed, horse shit still have non-metabolized sugars in it. On compost piles one can feel the heat as bacteria metaboloze the grass; it even melts the snow on top of the pile in the winter. Some houses are designed to use composting material for heat. Way cool!

why stop there?why not collect the methane from the "extra two bales" by sticking a pipe up in there?any neccesary pumping motion for the methane tank to function could be acquired by a pully system tied to the horses legs.even the leg energy could be harnessed into a bettery for later use.once this tech is perfected we could have microchips inserted up there as well so that the horse creates the energy more efficiently. ha ha ha..,you tell 'em where to stick dude! :)
