Where did you find that photo of Pat Hare playing the Danelectro guitar? I've never seen it before and would love to save a copy of it on my computer.

One other with him singing called Bonus Pay. Equally awesome. He was mainly a side man playing with many noteable bluesmen of the late '50s and early '60s. Check out Little Junior Parker's 1957 version of Pretty Baby it's the version posted on youtube by espanadadude. Also Bobby 'Blue' Blands I Smell Trouble is great. And his solo on Muddy Water's Let Me Hang Around is out of this world.

Thank u so much for the facts ,the man had his guitar sounding years ahead of his time on this track with that distortion effect, even for 1962 , would you did he make many other notable solo recordings before his tragedy ?

He recorded this in 1954 at Sun records. He didn't murder his girlfriend and the cop until 1962. He was playing in Muddy Waters band at the time. There's some great footage of him playing guitar with Muddy at the Newport Folk Festival on youtube and available on dvd.

Get a small tube amp and turn it up so loud that it begs for its worthless life. If it's still not dirty enough, you can always wrench on the tubes or cut the speaker cone with a switchblade or poke holes in it. You have to seriously abuse a small tube amp to get this sound. They are not cheap, so many people are reluctant to do so. I got (sort of) lucky by having a friend seriously damage one of mine. Doesn't sound like it used to, but it sounds great when you push it.

l read about this tune in the Keith Ritchards book ,when did he record this track ,while out on bail ,hard to beleive a black man could even get bail after killing two people in cold blood ,especialy when one was a cop ,anyone have any more details of this sad story ,it's a great tune tho ,that distortion was years ahead of its time . Who knows the real facts ? anybody out there...
