RENT a RASTA

Every year over 80,000 middle-aged women flock to Jamaica in search of the "big bamboo." They are not necessarily into long-term relationships, but many return regularly to their island boy who sport Rastafarian-style dreadlocks, bringing money and gifts like jewelry and designer sneakers, a practice called "rent a rasta."

But who are the real Rastafari and how do they feel about being used to market everything Jamaican?

The video does not really explore the issues. The film claims old, fat white women come for young, fit men yet all the guys are old & dirty looking with no teeth. We never get to hear what the men really think about the white women. The film claims Rastafari is a belief without anger yet all the Rastas in the film are full of anger & resentement. This is understandable but let's not pretend. This film is more of a propaganda tool for religious beliefs & not an exploration of sex tourism. Boring.

LISTEN closely to the argument and everyone in the film,

you will hear all the film proposes to explore. It claims nada except 444 years of point blank east-west, north-south exploitation, in RENT a RASTA we have a chance to listen to those on the other end of the stick, the whitey bitches need no further explanation, just as Rush Limbaugh travels to the D.R. for easy sex, needs no further comment. Yes, colonialist audience would prefer more genital talk than this film offers. Sorry.

make a film about old white men buying homeless little boys that live on the streets of Jamaica, these men mostly come from Europe USA and Canada. write a bout that. discuss this sick practice that's been taking place for a very long time.

Movie is good, its locals that give middle opinion.

Not every dread is a Rasta, opinion of true Rastas is also presented in the movie.

Trailer can`t tell it all.

I believe it`s more the way they see their way out of poverty,

also to get pleassure and boost ego. There is only one race - human, rest are small details. It`s more embaressing that they pretend to be Rastas. which should stand for proudness, dignity, spirituality and not gigolo.

@grahamk5 Also, the film purposely ignores the absolute FACT that a LOT of YOUNG, thin and "good looking" white women also go to Jamaica looking for sex and actual relationships. I know a couple of attractive white women with husbands they met in Jamaica when they were YOUNG and later brought these black men to the US on a marriage visa once they fell in love. I've been there and witnessed these young white women on the prowl. (They hook up with black men from the U.S. too. They just want B.M!!!
