This technique developed around 1934 is nowadays applied to obtain nano-fibers of different polymeric materials. The process is based on electrostatic ejection of a polymeric solution.
Hi there, You sure can use water as well as any other liquid. Sometimes, depending on the liquid used it gets very hard to get a stable flow. Usually when it happens you can play with the electric field or with the pumping rate. Humidity also plays a role in the process. Sometimes when it is too wet the instability makes the process impossible. “The dryer the better”.
