Telstra is offering customers a messaging service that charges them extra if they want to speak to "an Australian" instead of being diverted overseas.

What do you think?

  • im a telstra consultant for years now. calling any telstra customer service hotline is free, using your telstra line or mobile. Operation in australia is 6 times the cost in india or the philippines, operations have to be outsourced to meet business ends. Not to mention outsourced centers generate better customer satisfaction rating despite the fact that english is not a primary language.

  • hoax.

calling any telstra customer service hotline is FREE.

  • not a shock

  • how ridiculous.

i think it's appaling that we'd have to pay extra just to make sure that we understand someone whose job is to send our messages..

i guess that means they'd tell us it's our fault if we wanted to be as stingy as telstra and our message got stuffed up..?
