Hey Ben,

I was just wondering, were you in the music video for Little Bit of Life by Craig Morgan? I know you've toured w/him and was wondering if that was you in the video. I know I'd recognize the Mitch Key banjo anywhere. I was wondering if you could teach a lesson on Taylor Swift's Should've Said No, not to get away from bluegrass lessons, but just for fun. If not, I understand.

Hey Ben! I'm just starting banjo and don't know too much about the different kinds. The 5-string you're using in this video looks different from mine and the ones I've seen, with the fifth string starting at the fifth fret. Is that the only difference? And, since it's capoed on the second fret, am I not able to play this song the same way?

@TheDerekLynch Hey Derek! Good questions! This banjo is tuned EXACTLY like yours, it's just that instead of that 5th string tuner, my 5th string goes into a tunnel underneath the fingerboard at the 5th fret and comes out on the headstock. No difference in playing or tuning...just looks. Now, do you have a capo? If so, just slap it on the 2nd fret and you're good to go. If you don't have a capo, it would be really tough :) Good luck!

Ben, your video on salt creek is great, thanks! I'm an intermediate to advanced player, and trying to improve my knowledge of the instrument. I have a suggestion if you don't mind. I know it would help me a great deal, as a student , so to speak, when you show how to play a lick, if you would first demonstrate it fast, and then slow it down a little, but still at a speed where I can hear what the lick sounds like, and then break it down to show what notes are being played. thanks again- marnel

hey ben, Ive had my banjo for little under a year now, a fender fb59 and we'll my 4th string is buzzing pretty bad when i capo it i'm wondering what your thoughts are on this, do you think i need a new Bridge, or a new nut or just tweak the placement of my bridge? if i do need a Bridge is there a particular bridge that you would recommend, or will just any bridge do?

the best lick I've ever seen in all my years of playing bluegrass is your tag lick at 0:29. It's not only very advanced, it's very artistic.

and your" tasteless lick" is cool too!
