The Scottish Government's Housing & Communities Minister, Alex Neil MSP attended the Scottish Parliament's Petitions Committee hearing of 7 September 2010 to speak in support of several petitions seeking a review of the Scottish Public Services Ombudsman.

The Committee agreed to write to the Scottish Public Services Ombudsman, Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body, Scottish Government, and the Auditor General for Scotland seeking responses to points raised in these petitions and during the discussion.
