Part 1 of 2 - I will be discussing Borderline Personality Disorder symptoms and how to deal with them during the holiday season. I was diagnosed with a Borderline Personality Disorder 3,5 years ago. I've been in therapy for 4 years now and I've learned a lot that I want to share.

This is my first video and I am a bit nervous and also my English isn't great. But I'm trying.

Look for Part 2 in my 'uploaded videos'.

Greetz,

Bas

  • You are an inspiration to people with bpd. The fact that YOU are taking control is what makes you different to so many people with bpd. Many cant seem to keep control, which is one reason that their disorder affects their relationships.

  • @koimaster Thank you!

  • you are such a blessing to so many...thank you for being a light in the darkness

  • @abbyghost1 Aww thank you for this sweet comment too!

  • Sincere thanks for your courage and efforts here

  • p.s. I'll actually be not so far from your part of the world - Dusseldorf :)

  • Hi Bas, thank you for sharing the 'what if' technique. I will be going on a New Year's holiday with my partner which involves spending some time with that person's family (aargh, Christmas!) so I know I may experience some quite stressful situations and I'll be away from home for a while. So I'm going to use your what if preparation plan so I can deal with anything difficult that comes up. Please keep making videos because you have great advice and insight :) seasons greetings!

  • @MeAndMyBlackTable

    are you on Facebook?

  • i love the way you talk!I,m English and have had BPD about the same amount of time as you.I,ve not got any help though as no therapies here work,we don't even have DBT.All I can do is read books and use the internet for support - I know no-one else like me!I'm also agoraphobic,anorexic,self-harm,o.d.often,and have PTSD and OCD!You're an inspiration.

  • Borderline is hard to deal with! People used to think i had Bipolar but they are similar but we fear being alone and feel empty etc! My workers says i need to find the grey areas instead of seeing people in good or evil formations! If someone looks at me funny i fly for them!

  • @Groomboy47 I think saying he's not a 'real borderline' is extremely offensive. He's had as many struggles as the people you call 'real borderlines' and to him, what has happened will feel like the most painful thing in the whole world. What I don't think your realising is that with Borderlines, you can be aright and then one tiny little thing can literally kill you, Those people you describe are no more real borderlines than the rest of us, they are just borderlines no one has helped yet.

  • Can i just say your amazing! You have helped me understand and find new ways to control my emotions. Thank you =)

  • Thanks again Bas

    p.s Je engelse is geweldig!
