The Cary-Grove High School Jazz Choir did a co-concert with 6 Figures. This is the Jazz Choir's off-mic rendition of "Butterfly" by Rajaton with guest vocal percussionist, Sean.
Well as someone who has seen Rakaton perform this in St John's Newfoundland and as an alto myself I have to keel over that the lead singer is an alto. GO US!! Hah.
Seriously, I think your version is very unique but I like it. Very much. Fantastic job!
Probably the best group blend of any other group I've heard doing this song - the tenor/baritones vowel sounds could be a bit more congruous with the rest of the group, and they had the weakest tuning (but it's the guys that gotta pull up their socks :P)
it's... different. You guys made it your own. Whether it was effective or not is another thing. I think some of the problem involves the fact that you're a jazz choir and your tonalities aren't very Rajaton-esque.
A good lyrical east coast rapper needs to sample this and rap over it, someone who has deep lyrics. That would be epic...

Thanks! Monica is actually a alto with a great range! This was our first time performing this song. We have came a long way since then!

Definitely can't knock the lead soprano - very lovely. It loses its way at times, but is a strong take on the song overall.
