We slaughter bullheads in WI on nightcrawlers and chicken livers. We personally use a simple split shot sinker with a bait keeper or circle hook about a foot below it most commonly. Sometimes a colorful floating jig if we need it higher off the bottom.
Delicious in the frying pan or the smoker. Great fish to get kids used to deboning while they eat as they are so easy to find and remove the bones on.
