The latest Harry Potter film contains references to Terry Gilliam's 1985 classic, Brazil. I could be incorrect about the intentions of Potter director David Yates, but Brazil's bureaucratic nightmare seems to fit perfectly in the overtaken Ministry of Magic.

I do not own the rights to either of these films, and present the two side by side merely as a point of interest.

  • Terry Gilliam should've directed that first Harry Potter

  • I really dont think they a references to Brazil, or homages, or anything like that...they look kinda somewhat similar, but I doubt those scenes were meant that way.

  • yes, I discovered this

brazil is one of the best films ever

and the paper scene is one of the best scene in the film history
