Hombre is slow and you have to really like Newman to get into this movie. Richard Boone plays a great bad guy. The end sucks, big shoot out. And Boone utters that line ........wonder what hells gonna look like?

I was hoping to find a clip of the line that Hud's father said, when he was trying to explain to his grandson that Hud wasn't such a good role model. It was a classic and real deep. Something like "Be careful who you admire, because little by little we change society with those who we choose to admire". Wow. Think about it. If anybody can upload the exact quote I would be grateful, thanks!

This was probably my fav movie of Newman's. I love a good bad guy role and he sure did a great job of making you not like him in this. He almost had me feel sorry for him when his Dad tore into him in the scene where he tells him he was sick of him long before the death of his brother. But, also he was great in The Long Hot Summer and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. He looked so good in those movies.
