Bahh shut it..... I went to a Bechstein shop recently, and saw some of their newest models. What surprises me, is that they try to keep an old name alive they praise... and YET they let their newest models look alike the rival's..... *SIGH*
Steinway is like stradivarius. Steinway revolutionized the piano, everybody else, EVERY OTHER RIVAL copied them, or at the very least 'just' studied them very carefully.End of story, sad story - to be honest...
Without doubt Boesendorfer and Valentina just seem to work! I would consider Liszt’s arrangement of Ava Maria (not played on this video) and his second Hungarian rhapsody capable of testing the quality of any piano. The sections from the first movement of Rachmaninoff’s second piano concerto sounded magnificent
Listen to what she said about bosendorfer "The piano doesn't play me, i play the piano" Argerich said something opposite about Steinway: "It is truly a surprise when the piano plays better than the performer."
i love how her playing style adapts to the piece she is playing. she moves slow in the soft pieces and she jumps around on the fast pieces. she is just awesome!
One day, thanks to pianists like Valentina, the publice will realise just how 5th rate Steinway pianos are, compared to Bosendorfer, Bechstein, Bluthner, Fazioli and a whole host of other makes are. As a tuner, I've been arguing this, for 30 years! - One can only hope :-)
