This is a video project I made for a graduate college class in 2005. It is about my Grandfather's WWII division called "The Third Armored Division".
The project uses actual photos from his collection, other pictures found on-line, interviews and other clips from a History Channel Documentary, and music from the "Medal of Honor" video game, and me narrating (my apologies).

The Third Armored Division is an extremely underrated division for reasons that I hoped to bring out when doing this project.

The men in this division, and indeed the allies as a whole, have my utmost admiration and respect.

I was able to send a copy of this project to a surviving member of the division, who knew my Grandfather. He said he enjoyed it and that it was an accurate representation of his units exploits.

  • Great video, I was 3rd Ad in the cold war, we used to say where the spearhead goes the shaft will follow. I was at Ayer's Kaserne in Germany.

  • That documentary "Rolling Thunder" talks quite a bit about about the 3AD during the Cold War. You should check it out.

Thanks for the compliments and thanks for your service with the 3AD.

  • That's amazing. What a small world.

The History Channel documentary was called "Rolling Thunder: The True Story of the Thrid Armored Division." You can buy it at the History Channel website. I would highly recommend it.

  • good work

  • My grandpa was tank commander in the

    3AD, 32 Armored Reg.

The Sherman that was hit was his his friends tank. My grandpa and another guy were not seen in the clip. My grandpa was running towards the camera to get help and his buddy was running to help the guy that was shot.

    Thank you for making this.

What was the name of the History Channel documentary you got this from?
