Although this is nothing Calypso, Calypso was indeed created in Trinidad. Yes it is a developmental music but its development occured in Trinidad for a number of reasons. It is way more than French or African. The rhythms are of African Origans but the other structural parts come from the French, Spanish and even the Amerindians. It takes more than a certain percussive rhythm construct Calypso. No one ethnic origin can claim calypso EXCEPT the fact that the forces came together in Trinidad ALONE

I think it is neat you use a Telecaster. My favorite guitar. Lot of people think it is only good for country and twang but it is like a bell to me and you have it working well with slight distortion. I can't play but I love them so much I got a fender tele a couple years ago and I came up with neat sounds with reverb

Oh yeah.it is a telecaster,they are great and a pleasure to play with.
Here it has distortion trough a Marshall.
