Thanks for your insights everyone! Yeah, the EL wire is just loosely thrown on there for now. It doesn't hold it's shape like the ribbons so I would need to attach it to a thin wire to shape it. In screenshots from the show, it looks like there are thin ribbons mixed in with the bigger ribbons so I thought I might try it out :) I'm also looking for solutions on making the locket glow while holding all the ribbons/sparkles in place.

I wonder if there's some kind of fabric / ribbon you could use that has some led/fiber optics already integrated inside of it - I feel like I've seen something like that before just can't remember where... add to that, how will you "hide" the black...box part of the fiber optic battery pack? Hidden behind the brooch? Anyway, good luck with your costume, it certainly is original :)

@powertier certain do but theirs many that keep it clean and fun.. Plus I think if your going to rave you should be responsible of what your doing, giving into drugs is your choice not a must do..

the glowing rope is a neat idea. it just looks a little funny almost like it was just thrown on .. maybe hook it under the ribbon so it shines through under the ribbon and so it doesn't take away from the whole costume? I don't know just an idea for you to try. I'm not a cosplay expert. I love everything else about your idea! Great job! hope it all comes together!

I love it! Most original idea I've seen! Would place it over tan/cream tights for the full effect. Think it would actually be more effective without that glowing rope though. Less is more.
