  • Thanks so much for getting back to me. Will spend a bit more time on my jump rings to work harden them as I assemble my jewelry designs. Thanks again. Your help has been invaluable to me!

  • @boxer3086 Really the only way is with a laser welder or arc welder, these run from $5,000 to about $15,500 on up. Some people use a low temp solder like Stay Brite with a soldering iron, but this isn't very permanent and in my oppinion doesn't look very good. The best solution is to work harden the rings as much as possible and make them springy.

  • Really good to know since that's all I have so far - new at jewelry making for selling. Is there a way to close silver-plated jump rings permanently? Trying to keep things more affordable for my target market.

    Thanks for your help, Mark!

  • @boxer3086 Hi, This will work on silver filled but NOT silver plate. The plate will burn off, or bubble up and look horrible. I hope this helps.

  • Wondering if these techniques will work on sliver-plated or silver-filled jump rings?

  • Mark, can you demonstrate how to set up and operate Hydroflux welder and how to regulate different flames for particular jewelry soldering. I see on youyube only one ortodantist demonstration with this welder system. Thank's

  • can you use this paste on brass bezels to solder them to each other or to attach loops, I have some easy silver solder paste but it will not flow , I am using a butane torch. What am I doing wrong ???

  • He has two flux. One to prevent surface oxidation and the other to help the solder flow. Are the two flux the same materials? He never clarified.

  • I would love to see a demo on the Hot Spot.....
