this is all true. However Zajick's technique has gotten better as she has aged, where Cossotto's vocal production started to suffer towards the end of her career. I also believe that Zajick is a more flexible artist, capable of doing a wider variety of roles. Both women brought/bring incredible gifts to the stage..Lets celebrate them both!

Game set and match! Quality of voice you are born with. You can train it to perfection but the tone and quality are with you from the beginning Cossotto has a texture - a focus- a velvet like tone yet brilliant . Even when she pushes the voice the tone remains Zajick's voice, though flexible has not this golden texture and tends to get shrill and sound shouted when pushed. I heard Fiorenza sing live in 1970 as Santuzza . Her's was a voice to be heard in the flesh
