The Wire is easily -- I repeat easily -- the greatest dramatic TV show of all time. I know The Sopranos and Breaking Bad are good, but neither can escape the soap opera constraints inherent in serialized dramatic television. The Wire never feels like fiction. It feels like Life.

I'm watching it right now for the first time. And I like it. This show isn't about evil against good. It's about people.

This. I'd say the Sopranos at its best is better than The Wire, but The Wire benefits from more consistency. And saying either is easily better than the other is kind of dumb.

I'm producing a graphic novel called LIFE OR DEATH which was inspired by the stories I saw on this show. If you loved THE WIRE, you will love it, check it out on Indiegogo, thanks.

Of the prodigious ensemble cast comprising The Wire, there isn't one dull character. Of the six principle characters in Breaking Bad -- Walt, Jesse, Skylar, Walt Jr., Hank, and Marie -- two are great, but four are insufferable. Granted I haven't seen enough of The Sopranos to make a strong case there, but regarding the Breaking Bad-Wire debate, it seems to me that the latter is very nearly perfect, while the former is vastly flawed.
