I've seen season 1 and thought it was good, but now I've just bought the entire season 1 - 5 boxset from Amazon, so it looks like The Wire is going to be a HUGE part of my life for the next month or so.

@LaLaGrunge Can we stop saying "X is better than Y" like it's a matter of fact? You like the Sopranos best, that's fine, but that doesn't make it the better show. Same with people who like The Wire best (myself included). Both shows (and even Breaking Bad) are at a level where each person can decide which one they prefer, but there's absolutely no objective or quantifiable measure that says one is better than the other (despite critics' consensus being on The Wire's side).

@LaLaGrunge In your opinion ;) its all subjective and sentiment has a lot to do with it too. Took me a while to admit The Wire was the best ever (imo) as Oz had held that spot for so long and will always be my all time favourite. But sometimes you just have to hold up your hands and bow down to genius when you see it. I have to give it to The Wire (but Oz has my heart)

@iai400 that's your opinion fair play. An awful lot of people disagree though. The Wire is on a whole other level, there is so much depth in each and every single scene and word spoken. The Sopranos is good it just ain't that good.
