This video demonstrates a 1964 Blue Sparkle Fender Jaguar through a Peavey Artist series 120watt combo amplifier with MXR Carbon Copy Analog Delay pedal.

Fender introduced the Jaguar in 1962, it shares the same body styling as the Jazzmaster which was introduced 3 years earlier in 1959. At that time the Jaguar was the top of the Fender range. The Jaguar has a shorter scale length than the Jazzmaster and 2 re-design single coil pickups similar to the Stratocaster pickups but with a slightly higher output and a unique metal housing that focuses the magnetic field above the pickup. It shares the same tremolo and bridge as the Jazzmaster.

Jaguars were very popular with surf bands in the early and mid 60's however its flashy styling and complex switching meant that it never became as popular as the Stratocaster.

Fender stopped making Jaguars in the 70s, they were re-introduced when Grunge and Indie bands started using them in the early 90s.

  • The song is Wicked Game by Chris Izaak, great strat sound on the original

  • yes, Wicked Game it is, apparently originally recorded with a silver-face twin and an eighties USA strat. but the jaguar just sounds right to us

  • Thanks, it is a great guitar, we miss it since we sold it earlier this year.

  • Hello, the song is Wicked Game by Chris Izaak, regarding the Greco Sunburst we'll get a demo sorted asap, I'll probably demo it through my Fender Vibrolux Reverb

  • If you have and Fender Duo Sonics could please do a demonstration like this thanks.

  • In my experience the scratchy percussive stuff you do most distinguishes the sonics of the Jag from that of the Jazzmaster. Any chance of you posting some more? Really nice.

  • Hard wrenching bends dripping echo - love it. Thanks for showing off the Jag's most glorious colours

  • The shine - OHHH THE SHINE !!!!!

  • Ok, I now have a new mission in the material world, I must absolutley aquire a sparkly blue Fender Jaguar from 1964. My wife said we could even hang it from the bedroom ceiling when not twanging away in front of my Princeton Reverb.

  • All I do now is go on Pmt and look the the fender jaguar special hh and dream

  • That thing is absolutely gorgeous,
