you're an idiot, you can change the battery, it's not MEANT to be changed but there are tons of videos showing you how, and it's fairly simple.

This guy is phoney! I called the BMW dealer and they said u CAN change the battery. He also told me that would be the least expensive way to find out what's wrong. If they have to diagnose it, its gonna cost! So try it people.

The battery you need is a Panasonic VL2020 Rechargeable Battery which you can buy on ebay. If your micro switches for the buttons break you can also get those on ebay. I just changed my battery, took 15mins and saved me £90 for a new key.. try it see then your title will make sense : )
