  • Is that Bam on the drums?

  • Nope, it's Mike Hodges, who preceeded Bam as the Raisins' drummer. Mike had been in the band Sweetheart with Adrian Belew prior to this, and he worked with Adrian multiple times afterwards, including touring the world as part of David Bowie's band.

  • Mike was my step dad for many years... He's a phenomenal drummer! He's played with many great bands over the years...The Raisins, Adrian, David Bowie...this video is so funny! Love all the hair Mikie! Lol (and Rob)

  • I have had this song stuck in my head for the past 2 weeks!! Love them!!! My friends and I would always go see them at Gilleys in Dayton and at Canal Street. Love them and the memories!!!

  • OMG!! The Raisins!! I TOO remember them from Machine Gun Kellys!! What FUN memories! Machine Guns ROCKED! And The Raisins were the BEST!! I can't believe I found these guys again:) I'm feeling fuzzy all over:) hahaha!! My best friend and I wanted to runaway with the band!! LOL!!

  • @jeffkdrums At least the scene back then were open to hearing originals, You can't get a gig in this city nowadays playing originals, unless you're a legacy act. No one's interested in originals unfortunately.....

  • What ever happened to their Sylvania, Ohio drummer Steve Andretti?

  • i dont know how i ended up here but this song is horrible

  • Used to go to Machinegun Kelly's in Pensacola every time these guys played. I've still got a Raisins bumper sticker somewhere around here. Kelly's Killers!

  • They played at my club in Pensacola Beach in late 79 early 80s. Robs best song to me was "Your song is mine".. years before I was at Machine Gun Kelly's in Pensacola main land. What amazing memories and great music from the Raisins . Robbie hope you're doing well.. thank you for the music. Jim West, NJ

  • "Fear is Never Boring" sounded great on any radio and should have been huge. The whole summer of 1983 (?) it was in heavy rotation in Cincinnati on all three commercial rock/pop outlets: WEBN, Q102, and 96Rock. My circle of friends went into a joyful frenzy whenever it came on. A regional success for certain, but a missed opportunity to ramp it up from there?

  • Reply to Jeffkdrums thoughts, which were fair and insightful, I saw it just a tad differently. The group had the best 4 part harmonies in rock-n-roll (vocals). Only challenged by those coming from country music at the time. The quirkiness of their songs was about to become the rage in the 1990's (Spin Doc's, Offspring, etc). I believe very poor mgmnt kept the masses from a chance to get interested. Luck is very important and for them the luck was family & friends. Not fame.
