Hi, I'm Roz Usheroff, a leadership and corporate image specialist.
My goal is to help you "stand out from the rest" at your job interview.
If you're meeting in the interviewers office:
Out of politeness, ask where to sit.
Always get your interviewers business card upfront so you have the correct contact information.
Ask how much time is allocated for the interview.
Leave with a handshake, asking when it would be appropriate to follow up.
If the interview is in a conference room with several people attending, and you have trouble remembering names, place their business cards in front of you in order in which they are seated.
Where possible choose a chair location so that your peripheral vision includes everyone without turning your head.
When asked a question, begin and end with the person asking, but spend equal time looking at the others sitting at the table. You never know who the decision maker is.
And finally, followup immediately with a hand written thank you note, never an email. Less than 5% will do this, and this guarantees "You will be noticed".
