242lb (110kg) Warm up lift. Demonstration of the proper technique of performing Split Jerk from Back position. There are several benefits of performing Split Jerk from Back position:
1. It is easier to teach young athletes how to properly utilize the stretch-shortening cycle (SSC) of the Jerk movement.
2. Thoracic stability is less of a factor as opposed to perfroming this movement from Chest.
3. It is easier to produce force verticaly, making it easier to teach proper mechanics of Leg Split and Recovery from Split Position.
