CLICK http://www.axtell.com I'm Steve Axtell designer of the Axtell Expressions line of puppet characters. My team and I build them and others like yourself bring them to life. I call this the "The MAGIC MOMENT" to describe what happens when your puppet comes to life for the first time. It is an amazing moment when it can become anything you want it to be, but usually it just happens! Discovery of character, personality, life, voice, eye contact, manipulation all come together at this moment. Sometimes it's immediate, sometimes it comes in stages over time. To me it is the simplest yet one of the most powerful forms of MAGIC, so I wanted to explore the process with some pros who we can all learn from. I hope you enjoy the series of videos!

  • Anyway, thanks for bringing these great videos to us. See you at convention. :)

  • Steve, this is awesome. Ken is one of my favourites. However, I thought you might like to know that there's something wrong with the audio on this particular video. Not sure if you can do anything about it. It has a strong his throughout the entire video.

  • Ken is the best in the series so far. In my opinion.

  • I LOVE THIS SERIES PLEASE MAKE A SERIES HOW TO BE A VENTRILAQUIST

  • Ken is a master, can't thank Steve enough for bringing these really magical moments to us.

  • did he buy that puppet? did he buy the oldest man in the world?

  • Ken Groves demonstrates his mastery with the ventriloquial imposition of speech. He interprets, listens, and speaks, present and absent in the "magic moments" at the same time, he haunts, encloses the silence of Axtell's work, in this case, the old man figure, by extricating the silence from itself...)
