his version of the taker is one the best kristofferson covers ever. this is very nice as well. not crazy about the arrangement, but ol' waylons vocal is amazing. he had that big rolling voice which he could do most anything with and make it sound so easy. even more amazing is the fact that he should have, rather, he would have died with buddy holly in 59', but he took the bus instead. life is weird.

If only we could turn back time. Waylon was a man's man for sure, but he was also one fine
lady's man. He could melt you with his smile and a song. Believe it or not, he had just a bit of a shy streak in him that was precious too. We miss him so much, and NO One can ever take his place. RIP Sweet Man.

I saw Waylon around the time and this song was out on the Lonesome, Onery and Mean Album. As I recall it would be 1972 or so that would have made Waylon about 35 years old here. It also was just about when he got creative control of his recordings and he began to thrive as an artist.
