ɌƪƇԊƔ ░ & ϺАƔА'Ѕ Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ song

Taken from The Chameleons superb second album, 'WHAT DOES ANYTHING MEAN? BASICALLY' (1985).

Mark Burgess - bass & vocals. Dave Fielding - guitar. Reg Smithies - guitar. John Lever - drums. Andy Clegg - keyboards.

I've had too many crazy nights
I've seen too many crazy sights
I didn't want the scars to show
In those moments only mothers know

You know in retrospect it seems
There's always danger in your dreams
Like an actor stealing scenes
All the magic moments in your teens

All the thoughts you fight to hide
Lady Passion, Lady Pride
Sisters side by side
Talking while our tongues are tied
La da

da
Da da
Da da
Da da da

  • @latexprem I'm sure you mean many many metal bands, not other metal bands. Interesting info though. The drum sound is similar to that used on the Chameleons 'tears' and the great drum production is a major feature of songs like 'soul in isolation' and 'swamp thing, as I'm sure you know already.

  • Smithies and Fielding are/were pure genious.

    Thanks for sharing this Chams-Gem.

  • this song continues to stop me in my tracks every time.

  • The lyrics are so incredible, i wish i could write songs like this. I looooove The Chams...

  • how can anyone not love this song?

  • Simply fantastik

  • @latexprem I don't know, it always sounded like a linndrum to me, maybe because it is so simple

  • @brajtnerinjo the drum "machine" they used was named John Lever, as produced by Colin Richardson (who, bytheway, went on to produce, among many other metal bands, Bullet For My Valentine. go figure!)

  • Back in 1980 something, My First "CD", chosen with extreme thought and caring. I was NOT disappointed.

  • does anyone know which drum machine they used on this one? this is THE drum sound for me
