This was requested by a you tuber. This classic was recorderd in 1965 by the Isley Brothers and released in 1966. The instrumentation was provided by the Funk Brothers. Can't get much funkier than those guys. It was written by Holland-Dozier-Holland (Motown's main songwriting team) and Sylvia Moy. This song was originally intended for the Supremes who did released their own version. For the Isley Brothers the song reached #12 on the Billboard Hot 100 and # 6 on the R&B Chart. Get your funk on !!!! This video is intended for the purposes of education, comparison and critiquing.

  • @iamthequeenbee100 Wow...that is coool that they lived right down the street from your Grandma....They were one on the best R&B./rubk/rock bands around. Ernie Isley is one of the best guitarists around still today...Here is a tidbit for you. Jimi Hendrix lived with the Isley family back in the early 60's...Aside from his guitar p0layinf of course the other members had great great vocals and harmonies. Thanks for watching and commenting....Nick

  • I've listened to and loved the Isley brothers ever since my grandma told me they used to live down the street from her in Lincoln Heights (Cinn. to all you not from there) Thank you for this tribute--it's one I have not heard in DECADES. LOL
