Gradius 2 MSX level 4

level 4 of gradius/nemesis 2 for msx, played by me.
I hated those rocks at first but with some training it's not a big problem with the shield.
the part with the 10 big core at the end of level is quite boring they always appear at the same places ^^', you kill them really fast when in the right place.

y the hell did you avoid the powerups even when they weren't in the area of getting you killed at all??

you see the bar on the bottom left part of the screen ?

each time I take 1 power up it is incremented by one you choose the power up you want depending on the position of the cursor, I don't take the power up just to stay on the position of the shield,

this way when I lose my shield I can instantly pick up another, and only then I will take power up again :)

The emulator you are using has the psg set wrong on the sound you cant hear the drums properly, if it is blue msx go into the sound settings and turn up the psg and it will sound way better.

At 3:08, best thing to do is wipe out the 4 lasers and the tanks as well as the volcano, then go hide out on the top left corner of the screen. The meteors won't touch you when you're up there.

Looks brilliant. The simplistic graphical style takes nothing away from gameplay. The weapon system is great also.

I played this and Penguin Adventure to death on my MSX. The funny thing was, if you put both the Penguin Adventure and Gradius (or Nemesis as it was called here) cartridges in your MSX, the Vic Viper would turn into a penguin for some proto-parodius action :) I was amazed when I first discovered that.
