I ran down the long hallway and pressed my body against the wall, Vanessa right behind me. We peeked past the living room to check for cover. Luckily, my mom was in the kitchen with "stupid"...I could hear her voice.




"I don't know...do you think I'm a bad mother?" she said.
"Absolutely not! I think it's beyond natural for them to be feeling this type of way. Those rebelious scouts will get used to their new lives down here...adventually." he replied comfortly.



SCOUT!? REBEL? Last time i checked I was neither buddy! And...get used to what..? The fact that my parents are divorced!? Ohh... I get it! Maybe I'll get used to my FATHER and best friend having to be a hundred billion miles away from me while I was forcefully moved here! Ohh god what a jack ass! That's it...I officially hate him.



Vanessa rolled her eyes as she heard their conversation. I figured the coast was clear so we mind as well book it now. So I mouthed to her: "Come on." We quietly ran downstairs and snuck out of the house...boy how I missed these sneaky "Charlie's Angles" moments...



Once we got out of that prison cell I suppositly call a home, we ran straight to the garrage. Turns out the keys Vanessa grabbed belonged to my mom's car. I laughed at the sight of her paranoia I'd be missing. I jumped in the passenger seat and straped in my seat belt. I then glanced towards Vanessa with a BIG smile on my face. She put the roof of the hood down and hopped in as well. We exchanged looks...

"What" she said.
I laughed.
"Nothing...just imagining the look on mom's face when she finds out we jacked her car to ditch and hang at the beach."
"Oh yeahh...that I can not wait for" she began to laugh and strap on her seat belt. Next thing you know, she pulled out of the drive way and we hit the open road.



You want to know something..? Even though I had no idea where we were headed, at this very moment I didn't seem to care. It just felt so right to know that I'd be getting away from everything pushing me to my limits...even if it's just for a little while. To tell you the truth, God knows how tired I am of being told what to do and when to do it. I need a break from this on-going sanity I've got here. I need a reason to be myself and live the way I was meant to...freely.




As we passed the railroad station, I felt the wind breeze through my wild hair. I looked up at the open sky and released my arms up freely. The rush of cool air surrounded me. It felt great to be able to do this again...so I just smiled.Yea yea..I know I may say like some psychotic-emo chick right now, but lets face it...I'm just a normal person people! Get it? Got it? Goooooodd.




I gazed out the window and rested my head upon the seat head. About eight minutes later Vanessa poked me.

"Okay OWW!" I said.
She laughed and pointed to her right.
"Look Sel..."

I followed her direction and turned my head slightly. Before I knew it my eyes widened. I could just imagine what I looked like right now. Hmm..somewhere between an amazed martian landing on earth for the first time..I'd say anyway. I laughed at the sight as we pulled into the beach lot. Believe me when I tell you..it was BEAUTIFUL. I had always loved the beach. The ocean was very calming. But, OH when I saw those waves...Demi wasn't kidding! I know alot of people might say this... but I don't care because this scenery was truly off the hook!!!
