  • @smith37s You know I want to agree, but why would you call this suffering? Perhaps a little socially anxious, I think he more just did not wanna look like a cunt. You notice how in the full interview he asks consistently "does this make sense?" This is not a question a unconfident person asks, It's a fear of sounding specifically undignified of the position that fiction gives. A position of consequence, Of meaning, that is hard to speak about. Reflective people suffer, but dont cheapen it.

  • Kant

  • David spoke a great truth in this vid said very similarly once before...John 8:34: "Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin..."

  • You can tell he had some social anxiety issues which went along with the depression. In most interviews he's very self conscious of coming off in a certain way, and will be careful to correct/recant things that could be misconstrued. Very reflective person however, and introverted reflective people can suffer from those things.

  • Following every impulse is indeed a slavery in some form.

  • Thanks for posting these. One of the great writers of our time.

  • first of all he was a little awkward and nervous, secondly he had ticks because of his medication

  • Does anyone else notice that theres usually a certain pattern of blinks, inhales and carefully placed smirks when a someone like this wants to convey a point that they feel is important......?
