The belt it rubbing underneath the deck. Lift it up and you will see where the belt hangs down. There will be two two metal brackets that are probably rubbing on the belt as it passes by

Did you ever figure out how to fix the noise? My treadmill does the same thing.

I have a Nordic it make's the same sound...

did you figure out the source of the noise? - my mom's is making a similar noise - her's only makes noise when somebody is on the treadmill
