The Axolotl is a salamander that is very rare. In fact, it may be extinct in the wild. It has normally only been found in lagoons around Mexico City. Scientists have been unable to find a single specimen and they suspect that they are extinct in the wild due to pollution caused by fertilizer run off from fields near the lagoons where they resided. These specimens are from Seattle's Woodland Park Zoo. This video clip is from a June 8 visit.

  • @ClaudiaSwann haha thanks!!

  • @nicksta98 caudata[DOT]org/forum/f49-advertisements-newts-salamanders/f50-sale-give-away-trade/f65-fs-usa/

that's the portal for sale in the USA.

alternitavely you can just google "buy axolotl" and something should come up on a local search.

  • thanks for the tips

  • wow i live in the USA in the north east (new england)

  • @nicksta98 I wouldn't go to a pet store for an axolotl, I'd much rather get one from a breeder, get an axolotl from a pet store and it's almost always starved, and in terrible stress.

    I live in England/midlands.

If you're interested in axolotls you can try 'caudata[dot]org' newt and salamander portal, many breeders post on there advertising that they are selling them.

  • @ClaudiaSwann hmmmmmm. i dont see them at my pet stores, u guys live where its hotter, like south?

  • @nicksta98 Rare in the wild, not extinct but at risk. in captivity however there are that many of them - bread for scientific experiments and domestication. that they are infact a very common pet.

    And available in pet stores.

  • shyt how do u ppl get them!??

  • these animals are proof for evolution

  • i have 2 as well
