Richard Blumenthal lies about serving in Vietnam

This liar tries to embellish his military experience by inserting "Viet Nam" in his speeches but was nothing other than a wannabe. As a Navy veteran myself, I would never lie about my service experience. He is a disgrace to his country and his state. CT don't reward this coward with a Senate seat. We have enough cowards there already.

No, not at all. He didn't serve in Vietnam.
So let me ask you this. If I sat at Fort Dix in New Jersey for 6 months during the Iraq War, does that mean I served in Iraq?

The man said "I served IN Vietnam" BIG difference. Not only that, but he's been quoted in the CT Post about his service...NOT ONCE did he try to correct it. He wanted the people to believe that lie. Also, "Dick" has cultivated a reputation as the Eliot Spitzer of Connecticut. In 2007, the Competitive Enterprise Institute rated Mr. Blumenthal the worst state AG, beating Mr. Spitzer, which takes some doing! BTW, he REFUSED to investigate Dodd for the sweetheart deal. He's nothing but pond scum

He served during Vietnam, which he already said. "Vietnam" refers to a war which involved efforts state-side as well. He served in Vietnam meaning the war. He clarified himself then and now. Just another effort to Swift-boat a veteran.

What? Are you out of your mind?
He said he served "in" Vietnam. Do you speak English? Is it your first or second language? Do you understand that the word "in" denotes "within the boundaries of" Vietnam. Which means going to the country. It is like saying I went to China, though I have never been anywhere near there. It is a flat out lie.
If you think that isn't bad, he also claimed to be Captain of the Harvard Swim Team. I guess that's excusable, too.

Typical lying scumbag Democrat. When will people wake up to the TOTAL corruption, lying, smearing, Propaganda machine known as the Democrat party?
Is that all he said? I thought he was making false war stories or something. The guy served in the USMC-R during the Vietnam War, just because he was never stationed there, He can still say he served during Vietnam. Simple mistake of the tongue.

"He can still say he served during Vietnam." Yup, that would be what we call truth. On the other hand, when he says "I served in Vietnam" it's a lie.
What's really sad and pathetic is that his supporters didn't spend as much time correcting the lies (when they were repeated in newspaper articles) as they do covering for them. They're all over the internet on this.

If you listen to the full speech, he says at the beginning that he served "during the Vietnam Era." So he already clarified it before he said it. I don't find it anything but semantics in the full context of the speech.

"he says at the beginning that he served "during the Vietnam Era.""
If that statement somehow contradicted the statement "I served in Vietnam" you'd be right.
