Deepak Chopra: I'm Not Tarnishing Michael Jackson's Image

Longtime Michael Jackson friend Deepak Chopra reacts after seeing newly-released footage of the late singer's hair catching fire during a commercial shoot. "It makes you understand why he would have required narcotics," he told Larry King.

He also defends himself against naysayers and says he is not tarnishing the late King of Pop's image.

Plus, he takes a doctor to task about lupus, a condition Jackson was diagnosed with.

@SuperTruthful interesting discussion. on the one hand you called him a media whore, but on the other hand you wanted him to get lots of media coverage on this when MJ was still alive. i bet MJ would have really been embarassed if that had happened. if you were in his shoes, would you like the entire world to know that someone else thinks you're a drug addict? according to chopra himself, he tried to help MJ in the past, but he said he got defensive. how do u help some1 who doesnt want help?

@SuperTruthful why is he a media whore? because you said he is? he is only trying to give the world and the fans what they want to know. sure it could have been kept private, but everyone is dying to know what went on in his final days/years. and now that MJ passed away, they might as well come out with it. besides, im sure he didnt do it because he needed ANY media attention, but he wanted to let people know how others such as those doctors he talks about had mistreated michael.

Fascinating, insightful discussion no matter how painful it is for his fans. I also agree that ALL his doctors should be held accountable. I also do not trust his dermatologis , Dr. Arnold Klein either. I believe Chopra, Presley, Oxman, and Leonard Rowe. They used his addiction to control him. No doubt in my mind.

@lullemans72 ...If i called him a media whore, that is what i think. You can think of him in any way you like. I don't think he is trying to give me a fan what i want to know. If he wanted to help, when MJ was Alive, he should have brought this to the proper authorities, the police and medical board. That's how you help a friend that is suffering through an addiction. Confront his doctors and get media coverage that way. That's what i feel. The doctors exploited MJ for money. Greed!
