Greengrowers is a location-based game to be played in Venice. Using GPS technology, it allows players to grow virtual plants in the Venetian "campi" (fields in Italian, indicating squares in Venice). Resources are given by real weather conditions and site specific data. Winners are awarded real plants and they decide in which squares the Local Council will place them to enrich the green areas of the city. The game is an Interaction Design thesis developed at IUAV University of Venice - Visual and Multimedia Communication degree, with Professor Gillian Crampton Smith and Philip Tabor.
