Ok, watched ALL the youtube versions. I keep coming back to this one.
1. she's loosing her voice, the most terrifying thing that can happen to a singer. 2. You can hear her natural belt, it is beautiful. 3. She can't help the costume and wig, you have to put up with what they give you. 4. Wildhorn wrote this song Angry, passionate, and heart wrenching. I think that she captured it well. Too often girls, treat this as a Disney ballad.
5. Blame bad direction. Not on the girls talent.

Wow, that was REALLY fucking rude.
It's a children's theatre. Damn, get ahold of yourself.
You might have had a bad day or something, but honestly.
That was terrible of you to say.
You should be ashamed.

She is really amazing!!!!!!!

Those notes were hard on her. Quite a few cracks... I agree, the way she sung it (from a voice professional) is going to hurt her voice. The song needs to start soft and be sung in a special belt falsetto not to hurt the voice.

@TheAUBB42 haha, ain't that the truth, I was thumbing through the comments, and I was like damn these assess are cruel, I was moved to tears at some points when you sang this song. Oh by the way this is Jordan Harrelson, haha long time no see, I hope the baby and you are both doing well

to all the haters I would like to say, screw you guys, this comes from a guy who was in the show with her. she was sick and we had 4 performances that weekend, as well having to work everyday for 2 weeks prior. this may have not been the best performance to tape, but I know this girl can destroy any song she sings

wow. That was painful. She needs some training. I bet that did mega damage to her voice.

Not only does she not have the range for this role, but she cannot act to save her life.

This is the first Lucy I've heard, on Broadway or off, who actually sounded English while they were singing this song.
I think this is my new favorite rendition.

dlwilie I agree that too many girls sing this like a Disney princess. I liked that her voice was raspy because it seems more fitting for a prostitute but I think to really dazzle an audience with this song its all about hitting those high notes perfectly and she just didn't to be blunt. I also think her lack of vibrato is odd.

Wrong, wrong---- ye how criticize.... You should be ENCOURAGING her different version, her wonderful pleading for a new life, her "NEW"... version of this song is wonderful. She is not copying anyone.. she is pouring her heart out... naturally as the lyrics go.... her interpretation is one of my favorites... and I love this song and saw LINDA's last perforrmance of this same song on Bway

I don't think she is a bad singer the only problem is that the song is out of her range and she has completly lost her voice, she might actually be able to sing the higher notes if she wasn't so croaky. I feel sorry for her because it is so frustrating when you lose your voice.
No offense intended, but why is a "Children's Theatre" producing Jekyll&Hyde? Lust, Murder, Madness...not exactly PG material we're talking about.
It's always disappointing when children attempt to produce an adult-themed musical. There are so many other appropriate alternatives that would not require censorship of the show's original content. As for the young lady singing, her voice has potential, but she does not seem to have the vocal range necessary to portray Lucy in Jekyll& Hyde.

Fair enough. Cobb Children's Theatre does middle and high school performances during the Spring and Fall, but their summer show is summerstock and populated by High School and College students. I was 21 when I played J&H and Lucy was 18. Sure there were kids under 18 in the show, but if you don't think kids deal with those subjects on a regular basis, you might wanna take a closer look.

Hmm...I don't think this was the proper role for her. How old is she?
Anyhow, I think she has potential. Actually, a lot of it.
Haha the wig wasn't exactly great, but that's not the point here.
Ignore everyone else being rude, like michaelastreee.

When the video was made I think she was 17. She's an alto by nature. The wig....well, was wiggy. This was better than when it was bought. Thanks for the comment.

Yes, I figured she was an alto! :)

She has a great natural belt though. Sadly, cigarettes cut into her range and clarity. But she's quitting so maybe she'll get some of it back.
